Food Mobile

Food Truck HelpersFood Truck MusicThe Food Mobile (formerly known as the Mobile Food Truck) arrives in the Grace parking lot the last Tuesday of each month.  The Food Mobile is a program of Good Shepherd Food Bank and is hosted monthly by Grace Episcopal Church.

People are invited to come any time after 1:30 pm, and we welcome them with coffee and snacks while they wait.  On warm days we have live music and make it a party!

The truck arrives at 2 PM, laden with high-quality meats, produce and shelf goods, and leaves at approximately 3:30. There’s always plenty of help to carry boxes. Anyone who needs food is welcome; there are no eligibility checks.

Kimberly Gates, the host director of the Good Shepherd Mobile Food Truck program, writes:

“We are very grateful to the Trustees at the Davenport Trust Fund. They have supported us for several years by paying for five months of Food Mobiles per year.  Grace Episcopal Church raises the additional funds to host the Food Mobile the remaining seven months of the year.  Good Shepherd Food Bank loads the Food Mobile with approximately 4,000 pounds of food and we are able to serve between 280 and 325 people each month.  Many come to       us and say, “If it weren’t for this food, we would not be able to get through the next two weeks, food stamps come around the second week of the month and we would not survive as a family until then.” “We are so grateful we want to give back. Can we volunteer?” “We LOVE the music, it Hyde School Students helping at Food Truckmakes it feel like a ‘party’ instead of charity.” “Please thank the people of Grace for caring so much about Bath and the surrounding communities.”

Your level of commitment is whatever you want it to be. If you would like to volunteer monthly, bi monthly or twice a year, just show up on the last Tuesday of the month by 1:30. There are multiple different opportunities ranging from handing out food and assisting clients to mingling and helping with coffee and snacks in Tubbs Hall. During certain months we need help getting coats and winter clothing donated and then help with the distribution to clients.
